Based in Washington, DC, George Beckerman brings to Marlin & Associates more than 25 years of operational leadership combined with investment banking and strategic consulting experience.
His professional experience in the information and publishing services industries give him keen insight that makes him a valued counsel to M&A’s growing clientele.
George began his business career advising Dun & Bradstreet and R.R. Donnelley & Sons. He held executive positions in the Washington Post Company and Thomson Financial. He co-founded MarketResearch.com, Inc., DIDS-co, (one of the first geo-spatial software developers) and Federal Marketing Research Services. With the growth of the Digital Information Economy, George’s business expanded; his clients number in the hundreds.
Earlier in his career, George worked in the New York City Commission on City Finances, the Federal Aviation Agency, and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s business lending and advisory programs. He was National Defense Education Fellow at New York University’s Graduate School of Public Administration. George is a scuba diver and prefers Caribbean waters. As for tennis, he is not certain whether Ken Marlin or he would have to buy the beer after a match.
